ROADWORKS are set to be in place to enable utility works to be completed.

A section of the road will close to enable Network Plus to carry out urgent utility works.

Cumberland Council prohibits with immediate effect the passage of vehicular traffic along the section of U4175 in Millom from its junction with Lapstone Road extending in a South Westerly direction for a distance of approximately 20 metres, as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed. 

Roadworks are starting on July 22 and it is expected to take five days to be completed.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of U4175, St George's Road, St George's Terrace and Lapstone Road.
