A business based in Windermere has shown support for a local food initiative with a 'fantastic' donation.
McClures, a restaurant wholesaler, sent two donations of food and baked goods to the Ambleside Parish Centre this week.
There, volunteers run a community cafe, community lunch and hand out food bags, which are only available through the help of funding and donations.
A spokesperson from the parish centre said: "We are committed to redistributing surplus food and helping people meet the challenge of the cost of living crisis but can only do so with the help of likeminded businesses and individuals."
The group is now hoping that more businesses will show the same level of support going forward, so that the services have a more sustainable future.
They also encouraged anyone interested in joining the groups to reach out to the centre, which can be contacted by calling 01539 434172 or emailing admin@amblesidepc.org.uk.
