Andy's Man Club in Barrow has revealed it has helped over 1,000 people since its launch earlier this year.

The Barrow branch of the national charity opened its doors on February 12, which saw 80 men take part in the first session.

This week, the group announced that it had now surpassed 1,001 men taking the important step of meeting with them.

A spokesperson from the club said: "Many of these guys are regulars now, some come occasionally when they need a chat, but all of them are heroes in their own right.

"Just coming along to a session is a massive positive - well done to everyone who has been so far and we look forward to seeing new guys whenever you're ready."

Named after Andrew Roberts, who took his own life aged 23 in 2016, Andy's Man Club focuses on suicide prevention and encouraging men to open up about their feelings.
