A MAN has been handed a community order for using threatening behaviour or words with the intent of causing fear of or provoking unlawful violence.
Michael Shepherd, 50, of no fixed abode, admitted using abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards a woman in Barrow on May 31.
He pleaded guilty when he appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates Court on July 8.
Shepherd will have to pay £100 in compensation and he will have to complete 100 hours of unpaid work. His guilty plea was taken into account.
