THE Rootz is the last business to be announced as a finalist in The Mail's competition to find the best hairdresser in Furness.

The Ainslie Street business is run by Donna Thompson.

One Google review said: "Fave place to go for my hair and have done since I was little. Always come out happy with my hair and how shiny it looks."

Another said: "Cannot fault this hairdressers. I have used Rootz for years and I have always left feeling Donna and the girls listen to what you want and make the hair magic happen." They also praised the prices Rootz charge for their haircuts.

Previously in a Mail poll on the best hairdressers in Barrow, reader Jaene Price said: "Donna Thompson from RootZ on Ainslie Street. Been a fab hairdresser to me for years and helping me after my brain surgery to regrow my hair. Amazing!"

Readers will be able to vote for their favourite finalist by picking up a copy of the newspaper between Monday, June 24 and Saturday, July 6.

After this final voting stage has concluded, the winner will be crowned as The Mail's 'Hairdresser or Barber 2024' during the week commencing Monday, July 15.

Rootz is the last of the ten shortlisted establishments we will have featured over the previous issues to show our readers what they have to offer.

Tom Murphy, head of digital at Newsquest Cumbria, said: "We were inundated with nominations and it's no surprise given the number of brilliant barbers and hairdressers we have here in south Cumbria.

"We are looking forward to shining a spotlight on each of them over future editions.

"Remember to pick up a copy of The Mail to give your favourite a chance to win."
