A DRINKING establishment has been handed a new food hygiene rating.
Engine Inn, a pub at Cark In Cartmel, was given a score of four out of five, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.
This means the establishment has been rated 'Good'.
The rating was given by the inspectors from Westmorland and Furness Council after the assessment on May 28.
The hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage was found to be 'Good'.
The cleanliness and condition of facilities and building including having appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control to enable good food hygiene was also found to be 'Good.'
The standards of the management of food safety were found to be 'Generally Satisfactory'.
In Westmorland and Furness, 387 pubs, bars and nightclubs with ratings, 313 (81%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
