Hilary Grieve, who teaches Sound Massage Therapy in Ulverston is hosting a New Moon Sound and Gong Bath in aid of St Mary’s Hospice.

Hilary has been running Sound and Gong Baths since 2018 and has seen it become more popular over the past couple of years as people discover the benefits of sound.

She combines the use of yoga, guided relaxation, meditation in sound and gong baths to help people to relax and unwind.

Hilary described the event, saying: "Experience a deeply relaxing yoga nidra (guided meditation/relaxation) as you are bathed in the transformational sounds and vibrations of gongs, singing bowls and other instruments to take you to a deeper state of consciousness. Let the busy thinking mind quieten and find the peace and stillness within."

The idea is that, once able to relax deeply, our body’s own natural healing is activated.

The therapy is believed to improve blood flow and aids detoxification and many people find it eases pain in the body and report they have a good night’s sleep afterwards.

The event is being held on Sunday July 7 between 7pm and 8:15pm at Croftlands Community Centre.

All proceeds will be going to St Mary’s Hospice, and you can choose your level of support be paying £15, £20 or £25 per person.

Booking is essential, you can contact Hilary at bathedinsounds@gmail.com.
