Local businesses are being encouraged to take advantage of a 'unique' opportunity to help a nearby sports club.

The Barrow and District Origin Under 14's side is on the hunt for a new sponsor to increase the prominence of the team.

The side comprises the top Under-14 players from local amateur clubs, including Dalton, Barrow Island, Walney, Ulverston, and Millom.

A spokesperson said: "These young athletes represent the future stars of our local rugby scene - participating in the Origin setup allows them to showcase their pride in representing their town while gaining invaluable experience and honing their skills against high-level competition.

"This initiative represents a unique chance to support and nurture our local community’s next generation of rugby talent."

Those interested in taking on a sponsorship role are encouraged to see the team in action during training to witness first hand the talent the money will be going towards.
