The town crier has triumphed in an illustrious competition to be named as the best in the country.
Alan Brown was handed the Barlick Bellman Trophy on Saturday, June 29, having been putting his skills to the test in Barnoldswick in Lancashire.
The news was confirmed by Councillor Dave Taylor on Saturday afternoon, who took the time to congratulate Alan on the achievement.
He said: "Alan took on the country's best which included the current British Champion, Terry Ford, to win the Trophy today.
"Fantastic achievement, well done Alan."
Over the years, Alan has grown to be a well loved and integral part of the community, playing key roles in significant events.
This included a celebration of the coronation of HRH King Charles III in 2023, as well as the 80th anniversary of D-Day earlier this month.
