A controversial comedian is looking for answers after allegedly being told he cannot perform in Barrow.
Roy 'Chubby' Brown said on Friday, June 28 that the Forum Theatre would not be booking him for the 'foreseeable future'.
A similar decision was made last year, which was said to have left the star and his team 'baffled and confused'.

Taking to social media, Brown's tour manager said: "The Forum Theatre Barrow-in-Furness have now informed me they do not wish to book another Chubby show for the foreseeable future.
"Yet again this is all the info I have, I have asked for a reason why, but no reason or explanation has been given, just literally they don’t wish to book Chubby at this time.
"If anyone gets a reason why either of the venues don’t want to book a sell out show and very successful evening for themselves please let me know - it's simply comedy."
The comedian last performed in Barrow in 2022, with the shows a controversial topic for locals.
In 2019, former Barrow MP John Woodcock urged The Forum to consider cancelling his shows after being contacted by a disabled constituent who was ‘mercilessly pilloried’ by the entertainer when he visited the area in 2016.
Following the news in 2023, a spokesperson on behalf of Westmorland and Furness Council explained: "As a new council we have adopted a new set of values for our organisation to inform how we work, including at venues we operate.
“In light of these values we are developing a new bookings policy to help us decide the type of acts that we book at our venues, such as the Forum, in the future.
"Once the policy has been agreed we will apply it to all future and any outstanding booking enquiries.”
Hundreds of fans backed Brown following the latest social media post.
One said: "Recently attended what must be my 10th show this time in Cirencester and must say Roy made a point of saying it's only comedy in a classy way despite everyone knowing what to expect for the show."
Another added: "I live in Barrow and the people here would love to see you."
