A new independent business in Ulverston has received the seal of approval from the local mayor.

Councillor Graham Scrogham, who was appointed to the position in May, visited 'Fruit x Veg' on Thursday, June 27 to officially launch the stall.

The latest addition to Ulverston's indoor market, the stall was created and is managed by Megan Lunt and Jackson Simpson, who greeted customers for the first time earlier this month.

A spokesperson from the town council commented: "We wish Megan and Jackson all the best with their new stall."

The business offers a wide selection of products from onions to leeks, white cabbages, apples and strawberries, all sourced from Preston.

Having worked in the market since she was 18, Megan - now 21 - believed that there was a real need for fresh produce to be made available at the site.

You can visit 'Fruit x Veg' between 9am and 5pm whenever the market is open.
