Two Cumbrian towns are set to be transformed into running courses next month.
For the first time ever, the Lakeland Orienteering Club will be hosting urban sprint races in Ulverston and Kendal in July.
This will see participants take to the concrete as they run around the streets using special orienteering maps to find checkpoints marked with kites.
The club said: "This is suitable for runners to add some interest to their training, walkers interested in practising navigation skills and families looking for some adventurous fun."
Ulverston will host the first event on Wednesday, July 10, before Kendal gets its turn the following week.
There will be two courses per event, measuring roughly 3.4km and 2.4km, though competitors are only expected to take on one of the challenges.
