A MAN has been acquitted by a jury of three counts of rape in south Cumbria.

Richard Cobb was on trial this week at Burnley Combined Court facing three counts of raping a woman in 2017.

All of the offences were alleged to have taken place in Coniston.

A jury took just over 90 minutes to acquit the 48-year-old, of Greenacres, Bangor, of the charges on June 27.
