A LAKE District pub and B&B has been given a new food hygiene rating score.

Tower Bank Arms at Near Sawrey has been served with a five out of five food hygiene rating, according to the Food Standards Agency website.

Inspectors from Westmorland and Furness authority have found the establishment to be 'Very Good' on the date of the inspection - May 15. 

Hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage has been rated 'Good'.

The standards of cleanliness and condition of facilities and building including having appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control to enable good food hygiene have been found 'Good'.

The management of food safety which includes evidence that staff know about food safety and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future has also been rated 'Good'.
