Drainage works are set to close off roads for a minimum of six weeks.

Cumberland Council has made a traffic regulation order to close off a section of the U4129 Haverigg from 160m south of its junction with the U4029 extending in a southerly direction for approximately 140m.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be available at all times and an alternative route for vehicles will be sign posted and available on the unrestricted sections of the U4129, U4029 Poolside and the U4134 The Front.

The Cumberland Council website states: "Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 373 3736 or via the Cumberland Council website. The reference to quote is TTROC/11182.

"The Order will come into operation on 8 July 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months.

"However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for six weeks and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed."
