A popular pub in the Lake District has been given its latest food hygiene rating.
The Pig and Whistle, which greets customers from its spot in Cartmel, was handed five stars by the Food Standards Agency following a recent inspection.
The new management team only arrived at the pub in March this year, with the rating the latest show of recognition for the work they have put into the relaunch.

They said: "[We are] so proud to have been awarded the top rating for our food hygiene here at the Pig.
"Special thanks to our fantastic chef, Alessandro, for not only delivering exceptionally delicious dishes, but for running our kitchen to the highest possible standard."
Earlier this month, the pub received the Best in Glass Award for 2024, an in-house Robinsons Brewery accolade, meaning its high standards also goes for the pints it is pulling.
