A FITNESS and wellbeing centre in Barrow has been taken over by a new provider.
Fab Health and Fitness Club completed its takeover of Nuffield Health Fitness and Wellbeing Gym at Hollywood Park on June 24.
External works and internal painting are due to be completed by June 28 with the scaffolding scheduled to be removed and cleared from July 1.
The company’s new signage is set to be completed on July 5 with new gym equipment including 25 best-in-class Spin Bikes planned to arrive for installation from September 23.
Neil Jackson, CEO of Fab Health and Fitness Club, said he plans to alter the layout of the Spin studio and improve the class experience.
He said they would also soon be in a position to deliver Hyrox – a fitness competition that combines 8km of running and eight functional workout stations.
In a statement published online, Mr Jackson added his business was considering a couple of new studio options which would allow for the introduction of Reformer bed Pilates and specialist Yoga classes.
In the statement, Mr Jackson said: “We are very excited to serve and deliver all your health, fitness and wellbeing needs.
“We have ambitious plans to grow our estate. The Barrow-in-Furness club will be our first and will always be our flagship. Therefore, I’m delighted to inform you that we have big plans to invest in your club.
“We will communicate with you again very shortly but for now, be assured that your membership experience is only going to improve once we get started.
“We are currently building our website, preparing to take over and planning our investment programme.
“For now, please be confident that it’s very much business as usual, we will be operating very similar to Nuffield but with many additional surprises.”
Subscribers of Nuffield Health Fitness and Wellbeing Gym will continue to pay direct debit payments next month on July 1 but will have full use of facilities with Fab Health and Fitness Clubs.
Direct debit payments to Fab Health and Fitness Clubs will commence from August 1, the club have confirmed.
Opening hours have been tweaked slightly due to demand swipe visit data.
The new Health and Fitness Club will now be open from Monday to Thursday – 6:00 am – 10:00 pm, Friday between 6:00 am – 9:00 pm and at weekends between 8:00 am – 6:00 pm.
