The winner of the 'Best Chippy 2024' award has been announced.
In April, The Mail launched the new award to celebrate an industry that has grown to be a British staple.
Our readers were quick to get involved, nominating their favourite local businesses, the places that deliver the crispiest batter and most generous portions of chips.
Following this, ten finalists were collected and revealed to the public, commencing voting in what turned out to be a hard-fought competition.

By picking up copies of the newspaper, people across south Cumbria and Furness were able to show their support for their favourite chippies.
To help the process and to further celebrate the nominated businesses, The Mail released individual articles on each chippy to showcase what they all have to offer.
And we can now reveal that, after two weeks of furious voting, the winner of the 'Best Chippy 2024' award is Andy's Takeaway of Barrow.
A long-term favourite of locals from its spot on Hastings Street on Walney Island, Andy's Takeaway has been serving customers in Furness for over half a century.
In July, current owner Eddie Maloney will be celebrating 36 years at the helm of the business, with this latest award to mark the anniversary.

After hearing the news, he said: "We would like to thank our valued customers and look forward to serving them for many years to come."
Eddie originally got involved in the industry back in 1972 when he and his family ran a similar shop in Wigan.
Since then Barrow has become the family's home and there is no sign of looking back.
As Eddie added: "I love Barrow and my children who work in the shop with me will take over when I retire."
The same community they have grown to be a part of has now reciprocated that love, with The Mail readers naming it the best chippy among strong competition.
