An art exhibition taking place in Barrow has seen its run extended due to increased demand.
Organised by Art Gene, ‘If These Walls Could Talk’ celebrates two important buildings in the area: the Walney Shelter on Central Drive and the Nan Tait Centre, formerly the Technical College up until 1964.

The exhibition was expected to finish on June 11 but will now be open for individual private viewings or school visits until mid July.
Art Gene has explored these buildings' histories to encourage residents to acknowledge them, share their memories and preserve them for the future.
Found on Abbey Road, the exhibition can be found in the organisation's mezzanine gallery, which is also showing artworks by Jennie Dennett of Artfly, Maddi Nicholson and other artists.
If you would like to see the installation for yourself or have a school or community group and would like to arrange a visit, you can email rachael.barker@art.gene.co.uk or call 01229 825085.
