A LAKE district establishment has been given a 'generally satisfactory' food hygiene rating.
Poppi Red at Main Street, in Hawkshead, was handed a three-out-of-five food hygiene rating after an assessment on May 15.
An inspector from the local authority Westmorland and Furness Council rated the establishment.
The hygienic food handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage was found to be 'generally satisfactory'.
Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building including having appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control to enable good food hygiene were found to be 'generally satisfactory'.
The management of food safety where inspectors check if there is a system in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future was also found to be in a 'generally satisfactory' standard.
