TALENTED young performers are taking to the stage for a performance of Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Cats at The Forum.
Members of a Barrow-based CAST Theatre Company are bringing to life an original production of the classic musical.
The company said it was excited for the opening night of Cats inspired by the music of Lloyd Webber and based on the collection of poems by T.S.Eliot.
Everyone is invited to join their tribe of Jellicle Cats on a moonlit evening as they decide who will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life.
With 80 members from the age of eight upwards, Cats was a perfect choice for the group as it allowed everyone who wanted to be a part of the show to be involved.
Director and choreographer, Graham Barker has put the show together as CAST Theatre Company celebrates its 15th year.
A CAST Theatre Company spokesman said: “The group have worked extremely hard to put on a fantastic performance. Everyone involved has thoroughly enjoyed taking on a huge challenge and now can't wait to perform.
“We have such a diverse group, across all ages and abilities. We are really a huge family, giving everyone a safe space to perform.”
The company said it was important for people to have hobbies outside of school and work and that they try to keep the group as affordable as possible so everyone who wants to attend can.
“Barrow has lots of amazingly talented adults and youngsters, there's lots of amazing shows coming up at the forum this year, everyone should support local theatre," said the spokesman.
There will be four performances by the cast with opening night on Thursday June 20 starting at 7:30pm.
The cats will be back on Friday June 21 at 7:30pm, and also on Saturday June 22 for a matinee at 1pm before an evening performance at 6pm.
The amateur production was created by Cameron Mackintosh Limited and the Really Useful Group Limited. Tickets are available from the Forum and are priced at £12 plus a booking fee.
