TWO youths were stopped and searched by Cumbria Police on a boat and trailer storage area near Windermere this weekend.
The incident was conducted as part of Operation Headway which saw South Lakes Police working with Lake District National Park Rangers launched around Windermere.
A police spokesman said: "During a routine check yesterday we identified and challenged two suspicious males on private property where boats, trailers and equipment are stored. Both were subject to Stop & Search.
"Our joint patrols with the Lake District National Park Rangers continue throughout the summer on and around Windermere.
"Saturday saw more property being forensically marked making it less attractive to steal, easier to return to its rightful owners and easier to obtain prosecutions for theft."
"Please remain vigilant and report any suspicious incidents on 101 or 999 when a crime is in progress."
