A NEW carnival-themed event is set to take place in town.

Millom Fest is the new event taking place on July 6 at Millom Rugby League Club.

The event is packed with games, bouncy castles, kids rides, dancers, stalls and mini train rides.

Live music will also be added to the spectacle which will count with the performances of Drum Nation, The Cotton Bobbins, The Gears and The Aerobees.

There will be competitions throughout the day and visitors are encouraged to dress in fancy dress to add to the fun of the day.

The event is being organised by Sarah Sharpe, Caitlyn Sharpe, Hannah Kessler Berryl Worrall and Emma Clayton.

Berryl said: "We want to provide an event to bring the community together so people have a good day and fun and to instore life into the town.

"We are seeking local support from the community."

Contributing funds will be given to CGP and Jury for Joy.
