A GUIDED walk is taking place for women to follow in the footsteps of Peggy Braithwaite.
The walk will take place around South Walney Nature Reserve, for a journey through the life and landscape of Britain’s only female Principal Lighthouse Keeper.
Those interested will join artist Sarah Hardacre for 'Women's Walney Wander' for this social walk.
The event organised by Barrow Full is taking place on Saturday (June 15) and the distance of the walk is 2.6 miles.
Tickets are free, including minibus travel from Barrow town centre if required, but booking is essential.
It starts at 9.15am for those using a minibus. The meeting place is at Forshaw Street near the loading bay and car park side of the old Wilkos and Jeffersons Hotel.
For those making their own way there, the meeting time is at 10am at South Walney Nature.
