An upcoming meeting of Askam and Ireleth History Group will focus on the life of a coroner.
A talk titled 'My life as a Coroner' will explain the powers and responsibilities of this official position.
The presentation will give listeners an insight into what happens during an inquest into the cause of a person’s death.
On Thursday June 20, retired coroner Ian Smith will discuss his role and talk about some of the inquests he held in his career.
Everyone is welcome to join the talk, which will be held at Duddon Road Methodist Church in Askam at 7.30 pm. Entrance costs £3 per person and includes refreshments.
