A charity event has already beaten its record number of entries with months still to go before the big day.

St Mary's Hospice is bringing back its popular 'Walk to Remember' event on Friday September 6.

This ten-mile walk will see people start at Ulverston Leisure Centre before making their way to the finish line at Furness Academy.

On Tuesday, the hospice shared that 400 people have already signed up to take part, raising the excitement levels even more for the occasion.

They said: "It's amazing news - we've already smashed last year's numbers and we're so excited to see how many more we'll get signed up in the next few months."

With this being the hospice's 35th anniversary year, the aim is for everyone taking part to raise a minimum of £35 each.

Adults can register for the event for £10, whilst children aged between eight and 16 can do so for £5.

You can sign up by visiting the website or by calling 01229 580305.
