Hundreds of people turned out to Barrow Raiders stadium for a concert to bring down the curtain on Dave Day.

The event ran alongside the thousands of bikers making their way into Barrow Town Centre and kicked off around 4pm. 

The gig saw headline act Massive Wagons supported by rock acts Blue Nation, Maiden Cumbria, The Silver Bars, Jordan Gaffney, God Damn Smile, The Dales and Route 66.

Attendees enjoyed food from Cumbria vendors such as Kat Vandu which serves traditional Nepalese food in the Lake District. 

Among the crowd, one colourful person stood out - even amongd all the Hawaiian shirts. 

Deeno had come wearing a bright green Christmas blazer and comic art style trousers alongside his friend Wayne who wore a flowery shirt to honour Dave.

Wayne said: "We've come all the way from Newcastle and we're big Dave fans and today has been a really fantastic day."

(Image: Newsquest) James and Joanne, from Belfast, were spotted sitting on camping chairs watching Maiden Cumbria perform.

Joanne said: "We got the ferry down last night and drove down today. 

"We're massive fans of the Hairy Bikers and we wouldn't have missed this, it's been such a unique event."

(Image: Newsquest) As footage of Dave's finest moments played out across the big screen, people of all ages were there to celebrate his life. 

This included grandmother Stephanie Marks with her two grandchildren with granddaughters Eva Boyd and Margot Walker.

Stephanie said: "I'm a huge Dave fan and I'm a biker myself. I love his cookbooks and bought the Hairy Dieters books - I couldn't buy any more though as I'd end up putting on weight.

"Today has been fantastic and seeing the way it is today, I really think that Dave Day should be every year."
