A vintage phone box has now been restored and will remain 'a little piece of history' for Ulverston.

Dawid Kudelski, who runs Duracoat Roofing specialists, and his team, decided to take on the project inspired by their work on restoring another iconic structure in the town - the Roxy.

Dawid often saw the phone box at Rosside Road and realised that no-one had ever attempted to work on the box in any way.

Work has taken around a month to complete with the thorough job beginning with stripping the structure back to its bare metal.

The paint and glass were provided by Ulverston Town Council with the roofers donating their time and effort in all weathers.

Retired local resident Gerard Coldwell became intrigued when he saw two men working on the box around three weeks ago.

He said he'd often wondered whether to work on it himself however was happy that a 'piece of history' was being restored.

Speaking at the time, Gerard said: "All done quietly at personal expense, that’s why I love the place."
