NEW bosses said they have 'finally taken over' a popular coast-side café.

In October the owners of Bosun's Locker on Roa Island said they would not renew the lease when it expired on March 31.

The cafe went on the lettings market and now new owners have been found.

The bosses revealed the news on a Facebook post where people expressed their excitement.

It said: "We have the keys. After a long wait we have finally taken over the tenancy for the cafe, hoping to carry on the fantastic food and service the girls delivered over the years."

Bosun's Locker will be open on Saturday (June 8) at 10am for Dave Day to offer customers pies and peas, paninis and hot and cold drinks.

"Please appreciate that having only just received the keys, there is much to do and many plans to put into action! We look forward to seeing you," it concluded.

Reacting to the reopening of the establishment, one said: "Good luck guys, so happy you are opening, looking forward to popping down for an ice cream."

Another person added "Wishing you all the luck in the world with your new venture. Will have to call in and sample soon."

One said: "Fantastic news, will support the new venture, might be a tricky issue getting a park on that day, but will try."

The cafe receives good reviews on Tripadvisor and the Facebook group where people can make bookings has 3,800 members.

It also counts with more than 400 reviews on Google having a rating of 4.6.
