The top 10 motorways/major A roads in Westmorland and Furness with the most delays have been revealed.

According to the Road Delay Report, by Cromwell Trucks and Online Marketing Surgery, they are ranked on the amount of time people are delayed during their journeys.

The study found that the A66 eastbound between the M6 and A6 was the worse with delays of nearly 85 seconds per vehicle per mile.

Second was the A590 eastbound stretch between B5281 and A5087, where journey times were extended by an average of 81.8 seconds.

The A590 again came in third place, but this time westbound between B5281 and A595, came in third, causing drivers an additional 77.5 seconds per mile.

This was followed by the A66 westbound between A6 and M6 with 59 seconds.

The A590 eastbound between B5278 and A592 completed the top five most delayed routes, with an average delay of 55.6 seconds per mile.

Notably, the A590 featured significantly amongst the top ten delayed routes.
