A CAMPAIGN group are hosting a General Elections Hustings as they continue their battle to protect the River Kent’s ecology and wildlife.

The Clean River Kent Campaign (CRKC) are politically non-aligned coalition of communities who are also campaigning to clean the river of all types of water-based recreation.

Representatives from the group will gather with official parliamentary candidates for Westmorland & Lonsdale on June 12 at the Abbot Hall Social Care Centre on Dowkers Lane in Kendal between 7:00 – 9:00 pm.

Here they will discuss water quality, pollution, water services regulation and policies on water industry reform in a Q&A format.

Caz Graham, a local resident and BBC Radio 4 broadcaster, will chair the event.
