A MAN who assaulted a police officer has been sentenced.
Paul Fleming was charged with assaulting an emergency worker after an incident on December 10.
The 51-year-old admitted the charge when he appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court.
Magistrates heard Fleming assaulted police officer Joe Paxton in Ulverston.
The defendant, of Ulverston's Stanley Street, was sentenced to a fine of £515 for the offence.
The court heard the sum was uplifted from £415 because the assault involved an emergency worker.
Fleming was also told to pay a £206 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.
