A restaurant in Windermere has received a prestigious award less than a year after welcoming a new head chef.
The Apple Restaurant, located within Applegarth Villa Hotel, with head chef Ross Bowman received an AA Rosette.
This makes it only one of two with the award within Windermere and Bowness.
Kevin Clancy, general manager of Applegarth Villa, said: "We are immensely proud of Ross for his hard work since joining us less than a year ago.
"The recognition very much reflects the wonderful food he creates here in the heart of Windermere.
"Seasonal food and promoting local produce is key and his desserts are just sublime along with his stylish presentation."
Visitors to The Apple Restaurant can experience table and booth seating, a bar area, and an outdoor terrace.
The Apple is one of the top 10 dining spots in Windermere on TripAdvisor.
In a report by the AA inspector, it said: "Quality was consistent from start to finish. Fresh quality ingredients, accurately prepared with a very good level of technical skill evident on each dish, thus enabling the award of a One AA Rosette Award - compliments to all concerned.
"Breakfast offered a very good start; quality produce here as well, all well prepared.”
The hotel was also a finalist in the North West Family Business Awards 2024 in the Leisure & Tourism category.
