Barrow Market Hall will be having a 'Dave Day' this weekend as part of wider celebrations across the town.

On June 8, thousands of people are set to come to Cumbria to remember the life of Dave Myers, who passed away earlier this year after a battle with cancer.

The team at the market hall are hoping that they can play a key role in the Dave Day event too, with special performances sure to attract plenty of the expected visitors.

A spokesperson from the market commented: "We have great memories of Dave and Si when they visited Tuk's Thai Foods in 2021 to film an episode in the market for their series Hairy Bikers Go North.

"It was a great time and Dave never forgot about his home town of Barrow-in-Furness or his dear friend Tuk."

The market will be open from 9:00am until 7:00pm and, besides the usual stalls, will feature live music from 12 noon, including performances from David Duffin.
