A MAN has been banned from driving after he made the decision to drive with THC in his system.
Jack Lewis was caught drug driving in his Volvo V50 by road traffic officers on patrol on Dunningwell in Millom on November 9.
The 21-year-old, of Castle Terrace in Haverigg, was asked to conduct a drugs wipe at the roadside which came back positive for excess levels of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, a cannabinoid found in cannabis.
The court heard the lowest reading of which was 4.4 ug/L.
Lewis changed his plea to guilty at a Further Case Management hearing at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on May 28 and was disqualified from driving for a period of 12 months.
He was also ordered to pay a £120 crime for his offending, as well as £85 in court costs and an £80 surcharge.
