A590: 'Careless' driver banned after causing serious injury

A DRIVER has admitted causing serious injury by careless/inconsiderate driving on the A590.

Michael Wilson pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates Court on Monday, May 13.

Barrow man caught driving whilst nearly 10x over controlled drug limit

A MAN was caught driving on the streets of Barrow while nearly ten times over a specified controlled drug limit, a court heard.

Ricky Lamb, 47, of Goldsmith Street, Barrow, was stopped by road traffic officers whilst drug driving in his Mercedes C Class on Holker Street on November 15 last year, South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court heard.

Barrow mum of four caught drug driving after she took cocaine

A MUM of four was caught drug driving by police.

South Cumbria Magistrates' Court heard Carrie Hartley was driving a Vauxhall Zafira on Roose Road when she was stopped by police.

Porsche driver sentenced for drink driving in Appleby-in-Westmorland

A MAN will be unable to drive for over two years after being caught drink driving on a residential road.

Gareth Fennell, of Murton, was stopped by road traffic officers in his Porsche Macan on Chapel Street in Appleby-in-Westmorland on April 14 this year.

Man fined and disqualified for drink driving on A590 at Lindale

A MAN who was caught drink driving has been sentenced in court.

Grzegorz Muszynski, 51, pleaded guilty at the first opportunity to driving his Citroen C4 on the A590 at Lindale on April 1 this year whilst above the legal alcohol limit.

Man failed to give specimen for analysis - later caught with cocaine

A MAN has been sentenced after being caught in possession of a Class A drug and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

Benjamin Clarke, 38, of Linsty Green in Backbarrow, was found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine on March 16 this year in Barrow.

Woman drove short distance for emergency whilst over alcohol limit

A DRINK driver was ‘not acting rationally’ when she drove a short distance to deal with a medical emergency, a court heard.

Kerry Bennett, of Kirk Flatt in Great Urswick, pleaded guilty at the first opportunity to drink driving when she appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court in Barrow.

Millom man caught drink driving by road traffic officers

A MAN caught driving whilst over the legal alcohol limit has been sentenced.

Kirk Anthony Woodhouse, of Holborn Hill in Millom, was stopped by road traffic officers on Queens Park on February 11 this year while driving his Ford Focus.

Nigel Dawson sentenced for drink driving without licence in Barrow

A MAN has been sentenced for drink driving and other motor related offences.  

Nigel Dawson, of Greystoke Gardens in Barrow, was stopped by road traffic officers on Hawcoat Lane in Barrow on April 6 this year while driving a white and black Renault Captur GT Line.

Barrow man sentenced for driving without owner’s consent or licence

A MAN who made the decision to take a car without the owner’s consent before failing to give police a specimen of blood for analysis has been sentenced.   

Steven Culleton, of Amphitrite Street South in Barrow, admitted he had driven a Ford Focus without lawful authority.

Drink driver caught behind wheel of Range Rover in Cartmel

A DRINK driver is likely to be sacked from his job after he made the 'stupid' decision to drive home after a work barbecue, a court has heard.

Mark Gascoigne was stopped after police found he was driving his Range Rover in Cartmel without a valid MOT certificate and with a damaged tyre.

A590 danger driver swerved stinger and hit car with children in

A MOTORIST who collided with another car as he swerved to avoid a police stinger has been convicted of dangerous driving.

Lewis Daniel Gandy was being tracked by police as he drove a Vauxhall Zafira on the A590 and the A591.

Drink driver caught nearly double alcohol limit near Brettargh Holt

A DRINK driver told a court he felt 'lucky I didn't kill anyone' after being caught at nearly double the legal limit.

Keiran Ashworth was found by a police officer having lost control of his car driving near Brettargh Holt roundabout, South Cumbria Magistrates' Court heard.

Barrow man caught drug driving whilst riding E-Scooter – sentence

A MAN has been sentenced after being caught drug driving whilst riding an E-Scooter around the streets of Barrow.

Tyler Holme, 22, of St. Patricks Road in Barrow, was stopped by road traffic officers on North Road on December 14 last year.
