A COUNCILLOR said there is 'more and more concern' among residents over drivers going the wrong way on a one-way street.

Barrow town councillor Paul Griffiths penned an email to Westmorland and Furness Council, which manages the highways in Barrow, about drivers travelling the wrong way on a section between Sedgefield Road and Roose Road past the station.

Drivers can only travel north past the station on Yarlside Road.

Cllr Griffiths said that he had received 'multiple complaints' about this issue.

In the email he wrote to Westmorland and Furness Council, it states: "The residents are getting more and more concerned that a serious incident will occur soon if a resolution is not found.

"In summary motorists are travelling the wrong way up a one way street putting residents at risk and also putting Roose train station passengers at risk."

In response, Cllr Griffiths received an email stating that the council intends to address the issue through road marking and possibly additional signage during this financial year.
