Reggae DJs are set to precede an outdoor summer showing of the new Bob Marley: One Love film in Ulverston.

Plenty of reggae tunes are set to be played before the event which will take place on Saturday August 17 at Ford Park.

Alfresco Flicks Outdoor Cinema has put on some very successful events in Ford Park and is run by three local lads - Dave Crossley, Bryn Tyson, and Jamie Graham.

This event was voted for by the public and beat some fierce competitors including Batman: The Dark Knight, Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, 80s cult classic The Breakfast Club and 90s Disney film Cool Runnings.

Organiser Dave Crossley said: "Let's get together and feel alright.

"Well you voted - we listened - this topped the Alfresco Flicks poll by quite a distance so it's happening ya'll.

"Please don't leave your booking to the last minute if you intend to come and you are in a position to buy now.

"Last minute sales are why so many events end up getting cancelled as many independent promoters simply can't risk the thousands and all the time and effort it costs to put these kinds of events on."

The movie celebrates the life and music of an icon who inspired generations through his message of love and unity.

Released on the big screen for the first time in February of this year, Bob’s powerful story of overcoming adversity is told and the journey behind his revolutionary music.'

The film is rated a 12A with the event beginning at 4pm and finishing at 11pm.

Tickets cost £12 for adults and £8 for children (14 and under) and senior citizen receiving a state pension.
