A gold club in Cumbria has joined a national campaign to stand against discrimination in the sport.
On Wednesday, May 29, Ulverston Golf Club announced that it had become a part of the 'Respect in Golf' movement, a scheme working throughout England.
A spokesperson from the club commented: "This represents our commitment to inspiring the most welcoming environment for all to enjoy our sport."
The programme is being led by England Golf, who started it to highlight that there is 'no place in golf for any form of discrimination'.
They said: "England Golf passionately believes that golf belongs to everyone - all who play and all who aspire to play.
"As the governing body for amateur golf in England, we embrace our responsibility to inspire the most welcoming environment for all to enjoy our sport."
As of February 2024, the Cumbria Association was one of England Golf affiliated counties backing the 'Respect in Golf' movement.
