A ROAD is set to close for 3 weeks to enable level-crossing renewal works to be carried out.

Cumberland Council is making an order to prohibit all traffic from proceeding along the section of the C4029 near Haverigg, extending for approximately 20 meters on either side of the centre line of Haverigg Level Crossing.

The order will come into operation on June 10 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required from June 10 to July 2 and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.

It is anticipated that for the period from June 10 to June 14 the restriction will only be required between 8pm and 6am.

A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the C4029, U4084 and A5093.
