A number of routes in Cumbria are set to be impacted by Dave Day next month.

Earlier this week, Westmorland and Furness Council shared details of which roads should be avoided on June 8.

Thousands of visitors will be coming to the area to pay tribute to the life of Dave Myers, with celebrations centring around Barrow.

The main procession of bikers is expected from mid-afternoon and will travel along the A590 to Barrow, turning along Park Road and then down Abbey Road to the town centre, turning onto Hindpool Road and then finishing at the Town Hall.

Any motorists are strongly advised to avoid the route, particularly Hindpool Road.

A number of town centre roads will be closed during the afternoon between 3pm and 11pm around the vicinity of the Town Hall to support the safety of visitors.

Car parking in the town centre could be limited on June 8 with people asked by the council not to park 'illegally or inconsiderately' in residential areas.
