A group focused on building friendships and working on crafting skills and projects is celebrating its second year of running.

The Inn Crowd was set up after the Covid-19 lockdown ended to help people get back into socialising.

The group meet for needlework and a chat every Friday at The Holiday Inn Hotel on Market Street in Barrow.

Everyone at the club enjoys different crafts. There is crochet, knitting, felting, rug making and diamond art. They also work to support members with anxiety and depression.

Nicola Bull set up the club to help people reconnect. She said: “I realised many people were nervous to socialise after the isolation of the Covid pandemic.

“This is important to me because we promote inclusivity and friendship with an ethos of support. All are welcome and mental health is understood and not a taboo subject.

“I plan to carry on running the group meeting every week including public holidays when people feel loneliness more acutely then, I also host a Facebook chat so we can stay in touch and support each other.”

To celebrate two years of building friendships, they are having a celebration with a buffet and fancy dress with a 70s theme on July 21.
