According to the Westmorland and Furness Council website, the work is part of a 'trial hole investigation' with the local authority prohibiting the passage of vehicles along a section of Siskin Avenue.
A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be available via Tantabank, Merlin Drive, Kestrel Drive and the unrestricted section of Siskin Avenue.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
