THOUSANDS of bikers will make their way to Barrow from London in less than two weeks as a tribute to Hairy Biker Dave Myers.
TV chef Dave Myers died on Thursday, February 29, aged 66. Before his death, Dave had a long battle with cancer.
Fans across the country have shown their depth of feeling towards the Hairy Biker by organising rides, such as one in Yorkshire from Beverley to Scarborough in April which followed the route the Bikers took in an episode of their Go North series.
Dave's co-star, Si King, called the six thousand strong ride 'nothing more than astounding.'
Jason Woodcock, who is organising the day, said: "I'd just like to thank everybody, not just the folks who are coming on the ride, but everybody.

"Barrow people have just been phenomenal - well done to you all, you've just been amazing."
On Saturday, June 8, thousands are expected to travel from the famous Ace Café in the capital to Barrow, with many joining the route along the way.
The bikers are expected to arrive in Barrow town centre in the late afternoon. Celebrations run by the BID will centre around Barrow Town Hall, with a remembrance service and free family entertainment.
The procession will turn left onto Park Road from the A590 when entering Barrow, then proceed into the town centre via Abbey Road. Traffic delays are expected, and there will be road closures in place around Town Hall.
There will be free parking facilities for motorcycles arriving as part of the organised procession. For those not directly adjacent to the main event space, there will be a park and ride service.
Performances will start at 4pm on the Town Square outside The Forum Theatre, using staging that will be in place for an earlier event marking the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
Si King and Dave Myers' wife Liliana will appear at 6pm.
From 2pm until 11pm there will be a ticketed concert at Barrow Raiders' Northern Competitions Stadium. Tickets are still on sale for £10, which will be headlined by Massive Wagons. The club stated that 3,000 tickets had sold in less than 36 hours.
All surplus income will be going to Dave's charities - Childline and the Institute for Cancer Research.
A fundraiser set up for Dave Day which will donate money to these charities has already hit £15,946.
