Police officers took time away from patrolling the streets this week to educate children in the area.
Members from the Barrow Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) paid a visit to Newton Village Academy on Thursday, May 23.
PC Dixon and PCSO Kirkham worked with the kids at the school on Newton Road to teach them the best ways to stay safe online.
The NPT explained that it was an example of the work they do in the community that does not revolve around law enforcement.
The school thanked the team for spending some of their time with them, saying: "They discussed with us the importance of keeping ourselves safe online, especially whilst playing online games.
"And [they] gave us lots of tips about keeping personal information private, playing games that are age appropriate, and about blocking and reporting negative content, as well as talking to a trusted adult."
