THE Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for 'heavy rain' affecting Cumbria.
The weather warning starts on Wednesday at 12.15am and is set to end at 6am on Thursday (May 23).
It spans across England, north Wales and Scotland and affects all of Cumbria, North Yorkshire and Lancashire.
The Met Office states that the expected heavy rain may cause some flooding and disruption to travel.
It said: "What to expect:
- Some communities may be cut off by flooded roads
- Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
- Homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings
- Fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, causing a danger to life
- Delays or cancellations to train and bus services are possible
