A foodbank in Cumbria has received a timely donation amidst a growing dependency on similar services nationwide.
Millom Foodbank was handed a cheque worth £1,000 from Furness Building Society with the charity thanking the group for the 'wonderful' show of support.
Last week the Trussell Trust shared that a record number of food parcels were handed out last year in the UK, meaning donations such as this are proving to be more vital than ever.

A spokesperson from Furness Building Society said: "Together we're stronger - we're proud to be able to support our local communities and last month our Millom branch presented the local foodbank with a donation of £1,000.
"The donation will go towards the emergency food and support that Millom foodbank provides to those in need - thank you to the volunteers for the amazing work they do."
