A cinema in Ulverston is hosting a special 'autism friendly' movie screening this weekend.
The Roxy Cinema will be playing The Garfield Movie at 5pm on Saturday, May 25 in an environment that will better suit autistic people and help them enjoy the film.
This will include lower volumes being used whilst the movie plays, as well as adapting the theatre so that it uses lower lighting levels.
A spokesperson from the group Autus Cumbria said: "It’s great to see more venues locally adapting to be more autism friendly."

The not-for-profit organisation focuses its efforts on assisting local autistic kids and adults, largely through providing social groups, trips, one-to-one support, and training.
It has also been working to improve the perception and knowledge of autism in the community, with the Roxy's adaptations seen as a clear step in the right direction.
