A MAN has been sentenced after being caught drug driving whilst riding an E-Scooter around the streets of Barrow.
Tyler Holme, 22, of St. Patricks Road in Barrow, was stopped by road traffic officers on North Road on December 14 last year.
Results from a drugs wipe test first conducted at the roadside revealed Holme had been driving with 8 ug/l of Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol in his blood. The legal limit is 2 ug/l.
Police enquiries also revealed Holme had been driving without third party insurance.
Holme pleaded guilty at the first available opportunity to the offences at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on May 16 where he was fined £120 and disqualified from driving for a period of three years.
Magistrates also ordered that the defendant pay £85 in court costs and a £48 surcharge.
