A MAN charged with murder is due to appear in court.
William Prince was charged in connection with the death of 90-year-old Geoffrey Kershaw in Barrow.
Mr Prince, 64, of Abbey Road, is due to appear at Preston Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing today (Friday).
The defendant is alleged to have been involved in an incident with Mr Kershaw on Abbey Road on March 17.
Police said Mr Kershaw died in hospital five days later.
An inquest into his death was formally opened and then immediately suspended until further order by coroner Robert Cohen on April 11.
Mr Prince previously appeared at the court via video link but spoke only to confirm his name.
